About 3 years ago when I was an asylum seeker in Lithuania I said this to a supposed fellow asylum seeker.

"It'll become a vicious cycle if we work illegally and accept lower wages. The local will be pressured to accept lower wages because their employers can use illegal workers.

You might think, 'Ah, let's don't pretend to be virtuous. I am fine as long as I get the income.' But the thing is it will come back to you. Guess what happen after the local being pressured to accept lower wages? Illegal workers will get even lower wages."
